  Without reservation, my wife and I enthusiastically recommend Five Star Storage to any and all!  If we did not feel this way, we would have moved elsewhere months ago.

My wife and I have had a 10x10 storage unit with Five Star for almost two years.  We checked several storage facilities in the area before renting with Five Star.  It is conveniently located on the corner of Fairview and Antelope in Layton, two main streets in the East Layton area.

We found the prices to be comparable, the facility extremely clean, and the office hours (M-Sa 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) more than adequate. In fact, one "deal maker" on our decision to use Five Star was the availability of the staff.  Other units either had a phone number to call if we were interested in renting a storage unit (why else would be come by?) or they were "out!"  Five Star was available "as advertised."

Daily storage unit access hours (between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.) are extremely liberal.  In addition, there is a phone number posted on the door should patrons ever need access to their unit after hours.  Snow is quickly removed and once I even saw them spreading ice melt in front of the units as a safety precaution.

Security seems more than adequate with on-site personnel either in the office or moving around the grounds.  Additionally, there are cameras that monitor the facility both day and night.

We rented an indoor, controlled climate unit due to our desire to protect some furniture and fabric items we are storing.  It has been delightful.  Not only has the temperature remained stable year-round  but it has been great to be inside and out of the elements when we enter our unit.  Not many storage units we visited had this feature.

The owner/operator has been very accommodating and helpful.  He also speaks Spanish which might be a plus for some prospective customers.  The popularity of Five Star Storage is evidenced by their recent expansion which has roughly doubled the number of storage units available.

NOTE:  Lest anyone reading this Review think this is too good to be true, I have absolutely NO affiliation with this company.  Coincidentally, however, AFTER renting our storage unit, I learned the owner was a former high school student of mine.  This, in no way swayed our decision, but it did confirm my earlier personal evaluation of him as a great young man . . . though not the greatest history student. :-) [His comment, not mine!]
